Terms of service

Last updated August 9, 2026 · DRAFT — fill in highlighted placeholders before publishing

These terms are an agreement between you and [Vesta Style LLC], a [California] limited liability company ("Vesta", "we"), covering your use of the Vesta service at vesta.style. By creating an account you agree to them. We've written them in plain English on purpose — they still bind both of us.

1. What Vesta is

Vesta catalogs your clothes from photos, suggests outfits, and helps with packing lists and purchase decisions, using AI models to do the heavy lifting. AI output can be wrong: a shirt may be tagged the wrong color, an outfit suggestion may be questionable, purchase advice is not gospel. Treat suggestions as suggestions and use your own judgment — especially before buying anything.

2. Your account

3. Your content

Your photos and wardrobe data remain yours. You grant Vesta the limited rights needed to run the service: storing your content, processing it with the AI providers listed in the privacy policy, generating illustrations and suggestions from it, and displaying it back to you (and to any AI assistant you connect). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for residual copies in routine backups, which expire on their own schedule. Upload only content you have the right to use — your own photos, not someone else's copyrighted lookbook.

4. Plans, billing, and auto-renewal

Vesta has a free plan and paid plans. Every plan includes a monthly allowance of credits ("stitches") that refills each billing cycle; unused stitches don't roll over. Plan features and allowances may evolve, but we won't materially reduce what a paid plan includes mid-cycle.

Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period and your payment method is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. The price and billing frequency are shown at checkout. If we raise the price of your plan, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before the new price applies to you.

Canceling. You can cancel anytime in Settings → Billing (or by emailing support@vesta.style). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: you keep your paid features until then, and you won't be charged again.

Refunds. Amounts already billed are not refunded, in whole or pro-rata, except where the law requires. If you're a consumer in the EU/UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from your first purchase; by starting your subscription immediately you consent to immediate supply of the digital service and acknowledge that the withdrawal right lapses once the service is fully provided for the period. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.

5. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service. In particular, don't: probe, scan, overload, or interfere with Vesta's infrastructure; attempt to access other people's accounts or closets; scrape the service or resell access to it; circumvent plan limits or metering; upload malware or content you have no right to use; or use Vesta for anything unlawful. Automated access is allowed only through the connector features we provide, which are read-only and rate-limited.

6. Connected assistants

Vesta can connect to AI assistants (such as ChatGPT or Claude) so they can read your wardrobe. That access is read-only and scoped as described in the privacy policy. The connector credential (URL or authorization) acts like a key to your closet data: anyone or any tool you give it to can read what it exposes, so share it only with assistants you trust, and revoke it from Settings if in doubt.

7. Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time from Settings or by emailing us; closing your account deletes your closets and their contents as described in the privacy policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you materially breach these terms (including acceptable use), if required by law, or if a paid plan's charges repeatedly fail. Where reasonable we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

We may also terminate your account, or discontinue the service entirely, at our discretion for any reason — Vesta is a small service and reserves that flexibility. In that case (unlike termination for breach) we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, you'll be able to retrieve your data during that time, and if you're on a paid plan we'll refund the unused remainder of your billing period.

Except where we terminate for serious abuse, we'll give you an opportunity to retrieve your data before it's deleted. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (your content ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes) survive it.

8. Vesta's stuff

The Vesta software, design, name, and branding are ours; these terms don't give you any rights to them beyond using the service. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we can use them freely without obligation — that's the entire compensation, plus our gratitude.

9. Disclaimers

Vesta is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. Style advice is not professional advice; purchase suggestions are not endorsements of any seller. Nothing in this section limits warranties that consumer law doesn't allow us to disclaim.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Vesta will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for all claims arising out of the service is limited to the greater of US $50 and the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; where that's you, these limits apply only as far as permitted.

11. Disputes

If something goes wrong, talk to us first: email support@vesta.style with a description of the problem, and we'll both make a good-faith effort to resolve it informally within 30 days before either of us starts formal proceedings. These terms are governed by the laws of [California], and disputes that can't be resolved informally belong to the state or federal courts located in [San Francisco County, California]. If you're a consumer, you keep any protections and venue rights that the law of your home country grants you and that can't be waived by contract.

12. Changes to these terms

As Vesta evolves, these terms will too. For material changes we'll give you notice in the app (or by email) at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use Vesta after that means you accept them. If you don't, close your account before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
